ohsnp is a local-first macOS app. Your screenshots stay on your device. We collect the bare minimum needed to make the product work. Here's the full picture.

what we collect

  • //Email address — only if you join the waitlist or create an account.
  • //Screenshot metadata — file paths and AI-generated descriptions are stored locally in a SQLite database on your Mac. We do not upload or store your screenshots on our servers.
  • //Analytics data — we use Google Analytics on this website to understand traffic. This does not apply to the desktop app.
  • //Authentication data — if you sign in, we store basic profile info (name, email) to manage your account.

how we use it

  • //To provide the ohsnp service — organizing and analyzing your screenshots.

ai processing

  • //When you use AI analysis, screenshot data is sent to third-party AI providers (OpenRouter, Groq) for processing.
  • //This data is used solely to generate your analysis and is not retained by these providers beyond what their policies state.
  • //You can disable auto-analysis in settings and use ohsnp without any AI features.

local storage

  • //Your screenshots remain on your local filesystem — ohsnp only stores a reference path.
  • //All metadata, tags, and notes are stored in a local SQLite database on your device.
  • //Deleting the app removes the database. Your original screenshot files are not affected.

third-party services

  • //Convex — backend infrastructure for authentication and cloud sync.
  • //Google Analytics — website traffic analytics (landing page only).
  • //OpenRouter / Groq — AI analysis and voice transcription.
